Banks Financial Pressure on Business intensifies.

It’s been tough for many firms dealing with almost non-existent bank lending. It has pushed many to the brink and job losses have been inevitable as firms downsize to stay in the game.

So, you’d think that at least if firms have put themselves on a financial diet, staying on it would keep them afloat, if not exactly thriving.

Well, sorry to disappoint, but there’s a new bully on the block who is out to get what’s left of your business if you are not careful.

As the banks start to stabilise, they do what we all do after a bit of a personal financial shock - a little bit of housekeeping and tidying up. It’s the sort of thing you do when you have overstretched your budget checked your bank account and felt the blood drain from your face. Sweaty palms, pounding heart - not fun - but once you start to breathe again, one of the first things considered is to consolidate loans, cut up credit cards in order to put your house back in order.

And that’s what the banks are doing now. Is your business next?

How this is done is to move your account to a Business Recovery division. Different banks have different names for this Special Situations, Special Lending Services to name a couple.

Once this happens a banks aim is to de-gear their position and a Business Owner typically is put under intense pressure. The likelihood of a Business failure increases dramatically.

The process is started with just a simple letter from your relationship manager asking for more information about your business to be provided to your bank by a certain date.

Brawn GP had a monumental start to their rookie Grand Prix campaign

Their first year of motorsport has produced astonishing success.

But like every person, team or company that performs above the rest, it isn`t too long before the opposition raises their game and fights back

Roll the time forward...

We are in the middle of the season and Brawn GP is not winning any more races. The opposition has closed them down - Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari and even Renault have closed the gap.

Brawn GP is falling back against the competition and how they deal with this situation is crucial to their success as a Grand Prix team.

In business, similar situations occur regularly. A company that has been very successful suddenly or gradually sees sales slide and profits diminish. Often losses occur and then businesses fail. In fact, no company rides on the crest of a wave forever. And the ability to deal with the tough times sorts out the business men from the boys.
